This class covers the usage of electricity for each season, how to avoid wasting electricity, and easy ways to save money on your next bill.
Home Safety
This segment explains the importance of fire prevention and safety in a home. It also discusses using: a fire extinguisher, demo locks, and evacuation plans
Community Safety
This module is presented by a City Code Officer and it explains in detail city ordinances with regards to several issues. Also, it covers a conflict resolution exercise and community policing.
Green Initiative
The objective of this section of the class is to encourage applicants to implement water conservation, energy conservation and environmentally friendly practices.
Maintenance
This is the very unique segment of the class. We take participants to our brand new workshop and teach them how to fix a whole in the wall, trouble shoot electricity problems, fix a leak in the bath and other minor home repairs.
Money Management
As part of this course we also make sure that our participants learn how to: file a property tax exemption, keep the right type of insurance, learn to keep records and stay in a budget.
