Become familiar with programs and Home Buyer Qualifications
Fill out and submit the intake form online, or download it here and mail it or bring it to our office with a check or money order for $18.00 to cover your credit report fee. To get an idea of how much house you may be able to afford, use our mortgage calculator.
Within 3 business days after receiving your application the housing counselor will contact you to schedule a meeting and discuss your application. At that time you will be registered for our Home Buyer Education class.
If you meet all the program requirements then the housing counselor will ask you to bring the required documentation to move your file to processing. If you are not eligible for the program then we will continue counseling until you meet the qualification criteria.
The required documentation includes:
- Two months of bank statements
- Two months of pay check stubs
- Last two years of tax statements and W2 forms
- If self-employed bring in income tax returns for the previous two years and a year to date profit and loss statement
- Letter of non-traditional credit if applicable (Ex: Utilities, auto insurance, etc.)
Once we get your documentation we will request that you find a house and sign a contract. Then we will move towards the preparing process of closing on the home.
