The employees at NHS have several years of experience working in the housing industry. There are a number of employees that are fluent in Spanish and English. They come from different walks in life and have a very rich mix of education and work experience working for the private and public sector. In spite of their diversity NHS’ employees have the same goal of helping low income families live the American Dream.

Chris Sanchez, NHSSA Executive Director
Christopher W. Sanchez is the Executive Director for Neighborhood Housing Services of San Antonio. Sanchez has been working in the community development and affordable housing sector for more than 20 years.
Prior to coming on board with NHSSA, Sanchez spent several years working with The National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders – NALCAB. In that role he was an integral part of its formative growth and success. During his tenure with NALCAB, he served as a Senior Director and helped initiate many of their programs. Sanchez was part of the team that managed a $137 Million HUD Neighborhood Stabilization II Grant. He also helped develop and implement their HUD Technical Assistance platform – where he was responsible for managing staff and consultant partners in order to deliver federal TA to various municipal, state and rural entities. These TA programs are awarded nationally by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and more commonly known as, ONE CPD, Community Compass and Rural Capacity Building Technical Assistance. Sanchez also helped NALCAB to establish their lending platform which seeks to increase the capacity of their member organizations by infusing new sources of capital into their balance sheets. His ability to develop strong, lasting partnerships helped NALCAB to solidify their place as a leading national membership entity.
Sanchez is a man of strong faith and he has learned the importance of maintaining Christ centered values, along the way. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. He is the proud Grandson of former farmers from Hatch, NM and former small business owners from Las Cruces, NM. He attributes his success to the diverse upbringing and strong values - which were instilled in him at an early age by his mother. After finishing his undergraduate studies, Sanchez went on to become a Woodrow Wilson National Fellow; attending an intense Public Policy Institute at the University of Texas @ Austin, LBJ School of Public Affairs. This training prepared him for the complex work associated with affordable housing development. Sanchez and his beautiful wife, Yvonne, are the proud parents of 4 children and they have resided in San Antonio, Texas for the past 11 years.
