(NHSSA) IS a non-profit, 501(c)(3), corporation, which provides the City of San Antonio and Bexar County with comprehensive housing development, home rehabilitation, mortgage lending and homeownership counseling services. Our mission is to build successful families and communities through housing opportunities, while focusing on low- and moderate-income families.

Home Ownership Works
There are several opportunities for people to learn about home ownership. We teach a first-time homeowners class each month. Call us today to find out when the next class will be held. Or, you can also take a home buyer's class online. We also assist with financial counseling.
You New Home
NHSSA is a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), which means we are able to make loans to families for mortgages and second mortgages. Plus, we can help qualifying first-time homebuyers with down payment assistance.

NHSSA's builds very affordable new homes for first time homebuyers, and we rehabilitate older homes and make them ready for families. We work with various community partners to make grants available for down payments and closing costs, including our military families

NHSSA Awarded $25,000 Grant from SA Area Foundation
The San Antonio Area Foundation (the "Area Foundation") recently award $25,000 to Neighborhood Housing Services of San Antonio. The grant was from the COVID-19 Response Fund, a community fund jointly managed by the San Antonio Area Foundation and the United Way of San Antonio. The fund is comprised of nearly 30 caring businesses, donor advised funds, philanthropic foundations and government entities.
